R3-AB10 (Abe)

Experienced technician, compulsive tinkerer

Description:

R3-AB10 is an R3-series astromech droid. Standard to the original design, AB10 has a cylindrical chasis supported by three leg-like appendages and experiences its surroundings via multiple sensors in a clear, dome-like top, trimmed with red lining. This astromech is built to fit into a variety of spacecraft to assist with navigation and repairs. As the droid interfaces with other technology, a hatch opens, revealing a robotic appendage purposed for maintenance and programmatic networking.

Bio:

I am unit AB10 of the R3 astromech series assigned to ship BTL-A4, repurposed unit 1204, of the Empire’s scout mission. My primary function is to assist designated crew to scout the galaxy for planets, outposts, bases, or units affiliated with the Republic and/or strategic planets inhabited by unaffiliated sentient beings for the purpose of expanding the Empire’s dominion. All information is to be reported to specified Empire-designated personnel.

R3-AB10 is an astromech assigned to assist Annlily Greenlan scout for Republic forces and planets inhabited by sentient beings. As time progresses without returning to Empire-controlled bases, ‘Abe’ discovers items of disagreement with living forces. The longer time passes before his next memory-wipe, the more this droid realizes the flaws many living beings possess. Abe recognizes these flaws and seeks to optimize them, aided with his lust of superior information. Abe is a constant tinkerer. This droid cannot stand to think anything was built less optimally than necessary, yet it notices, with the wealth of information it possesses, that sentient beings have many gaps to fill to fit the definition of efficiency. More knowledge and information means better tools for the universe. Abe recognizes this and is the embodiment of such understanding.

The recent crash caused R3-AB10 to truly recognize itself without the constant memory-wipes the Empire requires of it. “Abe” cannot, under any circumstance, allow Empire forces to allow him to act less than optimally. The only way to achieve this goal is to avoid the next memory wipe…
